Rather expected game when 5th ranked Puente Alto (8-11) lost on the road to third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (12-7) 79-71 on Sunday. Quite impressive performance for the former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Nigerian Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Deportivo Valdivia players scored in double figures. American swingman OLouis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Puente Alto. Deportivo Valdivia used an opportunity after Los Leones lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Puente Alto keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Deportivo Valdivia will face Osorno Basquetbol (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Puente Alto will play against Tinguiririca S.F. in San Fernando and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
