Regular Season Round 10: MuKi - HNMKY U23 81-77

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Helsinki: MuKi (#2) and HNMKY U23 (#3). MuKi (9-1) won against visiting HNMKY U23 (7-3) 81-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-21. But HNMKY U23 won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Joonas Timonen (188-0) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Pyry Marttinen (184-99) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four MuKi players scored in double figures. Point guard Sakari Laakso (194-97) replied with 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jyri Eboreime (185-98) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for HNMKY U23. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. MuKi maintains second position in Division with 9-1 record having just one point less than leader HBA-Marsky. HNMKY U23 at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. MuKi's next round opponent will be Aalto-Basket (#11) in Espoo and are hoping to win another game. HNMKY U23 will play at home against JyWe (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
