Regular Season Round 11: Borea - Kerasan 89-92

The biggest surprise of round 11 was guest Kerasan's (3-8) road victory over 6th ranked Borea (2-9) 92-89 on Sunday evening. Kerasan forced 21 Borea turnovers. Strangely Borea outrebounded Kerasan 44-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Alban Latifaj (185-91) who scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Rinor Ahmeti (188-96) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. Sami Hajzeri (193-92) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Blendi Matoshi (196-94) added 14 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kerasan moved-up to sixth place. Borea lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Trepca. Kerasan are looking forward to face higher ranked Rahoveci (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Borea will play against Trepca (#8) in Mitrovice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
