Regular Season Round 10: Raholan Pyrkiva - Espoo Basket 82-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Tampere where 9th ranked Espoo Basket (3-7) was defeated by tenth ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (3-7) 82-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Raholan Pyrkiva. Espoo Basket was better in second period 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raholan Pyrkiva looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Ville Haapoja (200-98) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Lauri Tiainen (193-90) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Raholan Pyrkiva players scored in double figures. Raholan Pyrkiva's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Tuomas Laine (182-97) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Antti Heiskanen (186-90) scored 15 points. Raholan Pyrkiva moved-up to ninth place in Division. Raholan Pyrkiva will face higher ranked HyPo (#7) in Hyvinkaa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Espoo Basket will play at home against PeU-Basket and hope to win that game.
