Regular Season Round 10: AIK Basket - Telge 80-75

An interesting game took place in Solna where higher ranked Telge (5-5) was upset on the court of ninth ranked AIK Basket (2-8) 80-75 on Sunday. AIK Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Telge's 28. They outrebounded Telge 43-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. AIK Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Janel McCarville (188-82, college: Minnesota) scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ozlem Alkan (172-90) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. AIK Basket's coach Anders Hard allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Taylor Wurtz (183-90, college: Wisconsin) responded with 32 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Tayler Mingo (170-92, college: Wright St., agency: ProDep Management) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Newly promoted AIK Basket maintains ninth position with 2-8 record. Loser Telge keeps the fourth place with five games lost. AIK Basket will face league's second-placed Udominate in Umea in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Telge will play at home against IK Eos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
