Regular Season Round 14: JX-Eneos S. - Toyota B SR 91-66

WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (14-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Toyota B SR (8-6) in Kashiwa 91-66. It looked good early as Toyota B SR took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then JX-Eneos S. had a 20-11 second period charge getting the lead and Toyota B SR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-91. JX-Eneos S. made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game. JX-Eneos S. outrebounded Toyota B SR 44-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Toyota B SR was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international forward Yuka Osaki-Mamiya (185-90) notched 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) supported her with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Even 21 points by power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) did not help to save the game for Toyota B SR. Guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) added 9 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Toyota B SR at the other side dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Mitsubishi K.. JX-Eneos S. will play against league's second-placed Toyota A. in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyota B SR will play on the road against Denso Iris (#3) in Kariya and hopes to get back on the winning track.
