There was no surprise when 8th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (2-6) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Ironi Nahariya (5-3) 81-76 on Monday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 25-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international Iftach Ziv (191-95, agency: Avi Zilberman) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83) who added 14 points during the contest. American power forward David Laury (206-90, college: Iona) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) scored 11 points and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Brad Greenberg rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ironi Nahariya maintains fourth position with 5-3 record. Maccabi Ashdod lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Ironi Nahariya will meet Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
