Regular Season Round 8: Bnot Hertzeliya - Elitzur Ramla 72-70

There was a change at the D1 leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Elitzur Ramla (5-3). They were edged by sixth ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (4-4) 72-70 on Monday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Elitzur Ramla. Bnot Hertzeliya forced 19 Elitzur Ramla turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Breanna Richardson (185-95, college: Mississippi St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import power forward Nikki Greene (193-90, college: Penn St.) who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Kenyan-Canadian power forward Adut Bulgak (193-92, college: Florida St., agency: ProDep Management) responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Jennie Simms (183, college: ODU) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnot Hertzeliya maintains sixth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Ramat Hasharon. Newly promoted Elitzur Ramla dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Maccabi R.Hen and Maccabi Raanana. They were replaced at the leadership position by Elitzur Holon. Elitzur Ramla will play next round against Hap.Petah Tikva trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Bnot Hertzeliya will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion on the road.
