Regular Season Round 8: Elitzur Yavne - Macc.Rehovot 71-75

Leader Maccabi Rehovot delivered the seventh victory on Tuesday night. This time they beat 10th ranked Elitzur Yavne (2-6) 75-71. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and swingman Gur Porat (197-79) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Maccabi Rehovot maintains first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Maccabi K/G. Elitzur Yavne lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Maccabi Rehovot will meet at home Hap.Haifa (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Elitzur Yavne will play against Maccabi K/M (#13) in Kiryat Motzkin and hope to secure a win.
