Regular Season Round 7: Lietuvos rytas - Partizan NIS 93-75

There was no surprise in Vilnius where 5th ranked Serbian Partizan (1-6) was defeated by third ranked Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas (4-3) 93-75 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lietuvos rytas forced 20 Partizan turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. His fellow American import power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford) helped adding 21 points and 4 assists. Four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) responded with 20 points and 7 assists and center Djoko Salic (213-95) scored 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Lietuvos rytas. They maintain third place in Group C with 4-3 record having just two points less than leader Darussafaka. Loser Partizan stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Lietuvos rytas will face league's leader Lokomotiv in Krasnodar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Partizan will play at home against RETAbet BB (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
