An exciting game was played in Bangkok. Thailand Mono Vampire faced Singapore Singapore Slingers. Host Mono Vampire (3-2) defeated guests from Singapore (2-3) 90-78. Mono Vampire players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Reginald Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds. Filipino point guard Paul Zamar (180-87) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Four Mono Vampire players scored in double figures. Mono Vampire's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) added 17 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Singapore Slingers in the defeat. Mono Vampire's next round opponent will be Saigon Heat (#8) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Singapore Slingers will play against Hong Kong ELL (#1) and hope to win that game.
