Regular Season Round 12: Salerno - Valmontone 85-77

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Valmontone (9-3) lost on the road to fourth ranked Salerno (9-3) 85-77 on Wednesday. Salerno dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Valmontone's 12. It was a good game for Georgian swingman Levan Babilodze (198-98) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Point guard Simone Rischia (185-90) replied with 20 points and power forward Innocenzo Ferraro (200-82) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Valmontone. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Salerno moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Crema and Lecco. Salerno will face Sestu (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valmontone will play against Roma Luiss (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
