Very expected game in Vitoria where 16th ranked RETAbet BB (3-8) was crushed by seventh ranked Baskonia (7-4) 94-71 on Saturday. Baskonia shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by RETAbet BB's players. It was a great evening for German center Johannes Voigtmann (211-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Matt Janning (195-88, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) helped adding 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Baskonia players scored in double figures. The former international forward Alex Mumbru (202-79, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 21 points and Brazilian point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Baskonia have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gran Canaria and Obradoiro. RETAbet BB lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Baskonia will face Andorra (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. RETAbet BB will play against Movil Estudiantes (#12) and hope to win that game.
