The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Hitachi Sunrockers' (14-7) home victory over one of their biggest challengers Chiba Jets (15-6) 79-71 on Saturday. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Despite that victory Hitachi Sunrockers went down to third position due to points difference. Loser Chiba Jets dropped to the second place with six games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Osaka Evessa (#4) on the road in the next round. Chiba Jets will play against Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
