Regular Season Round 9: Peristeri GS - Papagou 79-65

Undefeated leader Peristeri GS delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they beat 12th ranked Papagou (3-6) 79-65 in Athens. The game without a history. Peristeri GS led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for guard Michalis Polytarchou (190-83) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 4 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Power forward Panagiotis Filippakos (203-94) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Konstantinos Fakopoulidis (190-95) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Papagou. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri GS (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first place with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Papagou lost third consecutive game. Papagou at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Peristeri GS will play against league's second-placed Holargos on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Papagou will play against Apollon Patras (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
