There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Jena II (3-9) won against at home higher ranked Ansbach (6-6) 84-71 on Saturday. Jena II forced 25 Ansbach turnovers. Marco Rahn (201-98) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Jena II's coach Christopher Schreiber used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St., agency: Athleadz) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Christopher Roll (180-93) added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Jena II. They moved-up to eleventh place in South-East, which they share with Herzogenaurach and Bamberg. Loser Ansbach keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Jena II will face higher ranked Gotha II (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
