No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Hertener Loewen (10-4) defeated on the road 13th ranked Hagen-Haspe (1-13) 77-70 on Saturday. British guard Jordan Whelan (193-94, college: MidAmerica Naz.) fired 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Hertener Loewen's coach Cedric Huesken allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Jeremy Lewis (185-86, college: St.Thomas, TX) produced 22 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Oscar Luchterhandt (195-91) added 17 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hertener Loewen moved-up to third place in West, which they share with Duesseldorf. Hagen-Haspe lost their thirteenth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Hertener Loewen will face Kamp-Lintfort (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
