The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Beijing Great Wall (9-2) in Dandong on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by twelfth ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (4-7) 87-84. Shenyang Golden Lions made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. The former international forward Shuang Zhao (188-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Shuai Liu (194-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. International forward Ting Shao (183-89) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Fan Zhang (188-84) added 18 points in the effort for Beijing Great Wall. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shenyang Golden Lions moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending champion Beijing Great Wall still keeps top position with two games lost. Shenyang Golden Lions is looking forward to face higher ranked Bayi Kylin (#9) in Yinzhou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Beijing Great Wall will play on the road against Xinjiang (#5) in Urumqi and is hoping to win this game.
