Regular Season Round 22: Hiroshima D. - Iwate Big Bulls 92-49

Rather expected game in Hiroshima where 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-19) were crushed by fourth ranked Dragonflies (12-9) 92-49 on Sunday. Dragonflies dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Iwate Big Bulls' 34. They outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 43-20 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dragonflies looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Noriyuki Sugasawa (192-87) responded with 14 points and guard Ohara Yoshimasa (186-89) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dragonflies have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kanazawa Sam. Iwate Big Bulls lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 19 games lost. Dragonflies will face league's leader Akita Happinets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Bambitious Nara (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
