Regular Season Round 13: Libertas - LTC Sangiorg. 75-98

Everything went according to plan in Livorno where eleventh ranked LTC Sangiorg. (6-7) outscored bottom-ranked Libertas (0-13) 98-75 on Sunday. LTC Sangiorg. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Libertas' 34. LTC Sangiorg. forced 22 Libertas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Libertas' players. Swingman Luca Falconi (190-91) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners and forward Sebastiano Bianchi (195-92) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. LTC Sangiorg.'s coach Daniele Quilici felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Daniele Mastrangelo (189-91, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Alessandro Ciampaglia (202-96) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LTC Sangiorg. moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Libertas still closes the standings with 13 games lost. LTC Sangiorg. will face league's second-placed Firenze All Foods at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Libertas will play against Montecatiniterme (#6) and hope to get finally their first victory.
