Regular Season Round 9: Valmiera/ORDO - Barsy 64-55

There was a minor upset when Kazakhstan Barsy (5-5) was defeated on the road by Latvian Valmiera/ORDO (7-3) 64-55 on Sunday. Forward Valters Liepins (195-98) stepped up and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Valters Veveris (188-0) chipped in 14 points. The best for the losing side was center Askar Maidekin (205-97) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Oleg Balashov (181-99) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Valmiera/ORDO went down to fifth position due to points difference. Loser Barsy dropped to the seventh place with five games lost.
