Regular Season Round 13: San Severo - Civitanova 87-77

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Civitanova (7-6) was defeated on the road by leader San Severo (13-0) 87-77 on Sunday. San Severo dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Civitanova's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (205-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Riccardo Bottioni (178-93) chipped in 14 points and 11 assists. Four San Severo players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Francesco Amoroso (201-78) responded with 21 points and guard Lorenzo Andreani (183-87) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. San Severo maintains first place in B with 13-0 record. Newly promoted Civitanova keeps the sixth position with six games lost. San Severo will face Recanati (#4) on the road in the next round. Civitanova will play against Cerignola Udas and hope to win that game.
