Regular Season Round 21: CD Castro - AB Ancud 65-60

Very important is a road loss of second ranked AB Ancud (14-7) against fifth ranked CD Castro (8-14) on Sunday night. Visiting AB Ancud was defeated by CD Castro in a tough game in Castro 60-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AB Ancud. CD Castro brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Rakim Brown (198-91, college: Humboldt St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. Argentinian forward Donovan Johnson-Marshall (201-92, college: Ky Wesleyan) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Argentinian point guard Jonatan Machuca (182-89) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for AB Ancud. CD Castro moved-up to fourth place. AB Ancud at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. They share it with CD Valdivia and Los Leones. CD Castro will play against league's leader Los Leones in Quilpue in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AB Ancud will play on the road against Universidad Catolica in Santiago and hopes to get back on the winning track.
