A very close game took place in Raanana between Hap.R/G Givat. and Maccabi Raanana. Fourth ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (7-2) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Maccabi Raanana (3-6). Hap.R/G Givat. managed to escape with a 2-point win 118-116 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Hap.R/G Givat. made 35-of-46 free shots (76.1 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Hap.R/G Givat. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Rashad Madden (196-92, college: Arkansas) nailed a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Ilya Ilyayev (196-93, college: St.Francis, IL, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Guy Lavie (190-92, agency: Avi Zilberman) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and forward Michael Moshkovitz (199-98, agency: Ron Sport) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Maccabi Raanana in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hap.R/G Givat. moved-up to third place. Loser Maccabi Raanana keeps the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Elitzur Yavne. Hap.R/G Givat. will meet at home league's leader Maccabi Rehovot in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Maccabi Raanana will play against Hapoel Kfar Saba (#12) and hope to secure a win.
