The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mineros as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mineros defeated 4th ranked Soles at home 77-71. Mineros forced 20 Soles turnovers. American players dominated the game. Guard Eric McClellan (193-93, college: Gonzaga, agency: KMG Sports Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Marcus Fillyaw (185-94, college: Ky Wesleyan, agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Mineros players scored in double figures. Mineros' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and center RJ White (203-94, college: NC-Greensboro) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Soles. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Soles lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Correcaminos and Capitanes. Soles will play next round against strong Correcaminos trying to get back on the winning streak. Mineros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
