Athletic Sofia outrebounded Balkan 2 47-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Todor Zahariev (190-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Mihail Tanev (200-90) helped adding 21 points. Athletic Sofia's coach Nikolay Hadjiev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Radoslav Kochev (195-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Rumen Vasilev (205-96) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Newly promoted Athletic Sofia maintains second place with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader UE Varna. Balkan 2 lost their fifth game in a row. Balkan 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Athletic Sofia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia BUBA.
