Regular Season Round 11: Den Bosch - Weert 82-48
Date: December 14, 2017
The game between fourth ranked Den Bosch (6-3) and 8th ranked Weert (2-8) in Den Bosch on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Den Bosch outscored guests from Weert 82-48. The game was mostly controlled by Den Bosch. Weert managed to win third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Weert to just 7 points in second quarter. Den Bosch dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Weert's 24. Den Bosch forced 23 Weert turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Weert's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Den Bosch made 10 blocks. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Stefan Wessels (203-84) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Anthony Marshall (190-91, college: UNLV, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 5 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Den Bosch players scored in double figures. Forward Sam Van-Dijk (194-96) came up with 15 points and power forward Roel Aarts (205-93) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Weert in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Den Bosch moved-up to third place. Weert at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Den Bosch will meet bottom-ranked Den Helder (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Weert will play against the league's second-placed Leiden and hope to secure a win.
