Regular Season Round 14: Al-Ittihad - Samaheej 85-55

Bottom-ranked Samaheej (0-13) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 13th consecutive match to eighth ranked Al-Ittihad (7-6) 85-55. Al-Ittihad dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 32. They outrebounded Samaheej 60-26 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al-Ittihad players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Samaheej's players. American forward Antwan Wilkerson (201-91, college: Johnson C. Four Al-Ittihad players scored in double figures. Mujtaba Ismaeel replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Hussain Busafwan added 15 points in the effort for Samaheej. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al-Ittihad maintains eighth position with 7-6 record. Samaheej at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Al-Ittihad's next round opponent will be Sitra (#9) at home. Samaheej will play against Al-Hala (#6) in Muharraq and hopes to get finally their first victory.
