An interesting game for Deportivo Valdivia (15-7) which hosted in Valdivia much higher ranked Espanol de Talca (11-11). Second ranked Deportivo Valdivia managed to get a 12-point victory 97-85. Deportivo Valdivia made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-91, college: S.Alabama) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Deportivo Valdivia's coach Juan Manuel Cordoba allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Francisco Bravo (174-87) added 13 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Four Deportivo Valdivia and five Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. Deportivo Valdivia keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Los Leones. Defending champion Espanol de Talca dropped to the fourth place with 11 games lost. Deportivo Valdivia's next round opponent will be again Espanol de Talca (#4) at home.
