Regular Season Round 10: Doukas - Iraklis 84-86

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Iraklis (8-2) edged bottom-ranked Doukas (1-9) in Athens 86-84 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-84. Quite impressive performance for Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. Guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Iraklis' coach Vangelis Alexandris allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Ioannis Tozios (209-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and guard Themis Koupidis (198-84) added 15 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Doukas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Iraklis moved-up to second place, which they share with Apollon Patras and Holargos. Doukas lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Iraklis will face Holargos (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Doukas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Marousi.
