Regular Season Round 23: Ehime OV - Fukushima 97-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Matsuyama. Second ranked Orange Vikings faced second-ranked Fukushima. Host Orange Vikings (16-6) defeated guests from Fukushima (13-8) 97-85. Orange Vikings made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Fukushima only scored ten points from the stripe. 25 personal fouls committed by Fukushima helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) accounted for 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Fukushima in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fukushima's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Orange Vikings have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-6 record having just three point less than leader Akita NH which they share with defeated Fukushima. Fukushima at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Orange Vikings' next round opponent will be again league's second-placed Fukushima at home and it will be for sure the game of the week.
