There was no surprise in S'Arenal where 15th ranked Palma (5-9) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Leyma Basquet (6-7) 97-90. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Palma won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leyma Basquet shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. American guard Zach Monaghan (188-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Duran International) notched 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and British forward Jesse Chuku (203-93, college: Lehigh) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Even 21 points and 6 assists by guard Rafael Huertas (191-84, agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Palma. Point guard Carles Bivia (189-85) added 21 points and 6 assists for the hosts. Four Leyma Basquet and five Palma players scored in double figures. Leyma Basquet have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Palma at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Leyma Basquet's next round opponent will be Magia Huesca (#11) at home. Palma will play against Oviedo CB and hope to win that game.
