Regular Season Round 11: Legia - MKS DG 77-81

PLK top team - MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (10-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventeenth ranked Legia (0-13) in Warszawa 81-77. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Legia won fourth quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Legia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for American forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) accounted for 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American guard Anthony Beane (188-94, college: S.Illinois, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 21 points and 5 assists and the former international swingman Grzegorz Kukielka (191-83) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Legia in the defeat. Five MKS Dabrowa Gornicza and four Legia players scored in double figures. Legia's coach Tane Spasev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record, which they share with Anwil. Newly promoted Legia still closes the standings with 13 games lost. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play against Asseco (#10) in Gdynia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Legia will play on the road against AZS Koszalin (#15) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
