Bottom-ranked Hapoel Afula managed to get a second victory, breaking the four-game losing streak on Tuesday night. This time they edged sixth-ranked Hasharon in Hod Hasharon 94-92. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hasharon. American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. The other American import point guard Travis Cohn (188-89, college: Jacksonville, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. Yotam Shiran (198-90) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Afula (2-8) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Hapoel K/S and Hapoel Migd.H. Loser Hasharon dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Hapoel Afula will meet at home Hapoel Migd.H. (#12) in the next round. Hasharon will play against the league's second-placed Maccabi K/G (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
