No shocking result in a game when third ranked Lille Metropole (8-2) defeated on the road 10th ranked SPO Rouen (5-5) 84-74 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 50-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (192-85) chipped in 23 points. Lille Metropole's coach Jean-Marc Dupraz used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American Desmond Williams (199-91, college: S.Connecticut) produced 28 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and his fellow American import Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Lille Metropole maintains third position with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Orleans. Loser SPO Rouen dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Lille Metropole will face league's second-placed Chorale de Roanne at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SPO Rouen will play against ALM Evreux (#13) and hope to win that game.
