There was no surprise when 17th ranked Quimper UJAP (2-8) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Saint Chamond (7-3) 60-53 on Tuesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Saint Chamond outrebounded Quimper UJAP 43-31 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Saint Chamond made 9 blocks. Swingman Lucas Hergott (200-97) fired 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (204-88) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American-Nigerian power forward Efe Odigie (203) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and Kevin Mondesir (204-91) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Quimper UJAP's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saint Chamond have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nancy and Blois. Quimper UJAP lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with eight games lost. Saint Chamond will face Poitiers (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Quimper UJAP will play against Nantes (#14) and hope to win that game.
