Regular Season Round 12: Olimpi - Mgzavrebi 90-69

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Olimpi (#4) and Mgzavrebi (#7). Olimpi (7-4) smashed visiting Mgzavrebi (3-7) by 21 points 90-69. Olimpi had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) chipped in 19 points. Four Olimpi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) who recorded 21 points and 5 assists and international Kakhaber Jintcharadze (195-93) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpi moved-up to third place, which they share with Rustavi. Mgzavrebi at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Olimpi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mgzavrebi will play at home against DELTA (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
