Regular Season Round 1: Hotshots - Alaska Aces 108-95
Date: December 20, 2017
Hotshots defeated Alaska Aces in Pasig City 108-95. Hotshots forced 22 Alaska Aces turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Paul Lee (185-89) stepped up and scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Ian-Paul Sangalang (201-91) chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the losing side naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Vic Manuel (193-87) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alaska Aces will play next round against TNT Ka Tropa trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Makati to the arena of TNT Ka Tropa. Hotshots will try to continue on its current victory against B.Ginebra in Manila.
