Regular Season Round 25: Fukuoka Rizing - Hiroshima D. 79-96

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Fukuoka Rizing (20-4) against fourth ranked Dragonflies (13-11) on Wednesday night. Host Fukuoka Rizing was defeated by Dragonflies in Fukuoka 96-79. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fukuoka Rizing. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Dragonflies players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Fukuoka Rizing in the defeat. Fukuoka Rizing's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Dragonflies keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toyotsu FE. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing still keeps top place with four games lost. Dragonflies will play against Bambitious Nara (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fukuoka Rizing will play against the league's second-placed Orange Vikings (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
