Important game to mention about took place in Doha. Fourth ranked Al Sadd (5-3) saved a 2-point derby victory on the road edging 8th ranked Al Ahli (1-7) 101-99 on Saturday evening. Al Sadd made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Al Ahli turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Al Ahli was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Julius Coles (193-89, college: Canisius) stepped up and scored 31 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Dee Oldham (193-94, college: Chattanooga) chipped in 23 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Nemanja Besovic (221-92) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (203-87, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Al Sadd and four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Al Sadd maintains fourth place with 5-3 record, which they share with Al Wakrah. Al Ahli lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost.
