Regular Season Round 13: Lietkabelis - Lietuvos rytas 69-75

An interesting game for Lietuvos rytas (12-4) which played road game in Panevezys against 4th placed Lietkabelis (10-6). Third ranked Lietuvos rytas managed to get a 6-point victory 75-69. Lietuvos rytas forced 19 Lietkabelis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) who helped to win the game recording 16 points. International Rokas Giedraitis (200-92) contributed with 15 points for the winners. The former international center Ksistof Lavrinovic (209-79) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and international Adas Juskevicius (194-89) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lietkabelis. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietuvos rytas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-4 record having just two points less than leader Zalgiris. Lietkabelis lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. Lietuvos rytas are looking forward to face Dzukija (#7) in Alytus in the next round. Lietkabelis will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
