Regular Season Round 12: Galatasaray - Sakarya BSB 75-77

A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked Galatasaray (5-7) to seventh ranked Sakarya BSB (7-5) 77-75 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) who scored 20 points and 6 assists. International forward Metecan Birsen (208-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Sakarya BSB players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Emir Preldzic (206-87, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 14 points and 5 assists and American swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sakarya BSB moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Darussafaka. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Sakarya BSB's next round opponent will be Pinar Karsiyaka (#13) at home and are hoping to win another game. Galatasaray's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul BBSK.
