Regular Season Round 11: Quimper - Nantes 86-94

No shocking result in a game when thirteenth ranked Nantes (4-7) beat on the road 16th ranked Quimper UJAP (2-9) 94-86 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-86. Nantes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Quimper UJAP's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American-German center Waverly Austin (211-91, college: Oregon, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Maxime Choplin (181-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists and Kevin Mondesir (204-91) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Five Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Nantes moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Denain and Poitiers. Quimper UJAP lost their ninth game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with nine games lost. Nantes will face Aix-Maurienne (#15) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round. Quimper UJAP will play on the road against ADA Blois and will have a slim chance for a victory.
