Regular Season Round 14: Schwenningen - Fellbach 120-86

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Fellbach (7-7) was outscored on the road by second ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (12-1) 120-86 on Saturday. BV Villingen-Schwenningen dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Fellbach's 42. They outrebounded Fellbach 40-21 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. BV Villingen-Schwenningen shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Fellbach's players. Serbian-Hungarian Nikola Fekete (192-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!). BV Villingen-Schwenningen's coach Alen Velcic felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Lasse Steinort (195-94, college: Kirtland CC) added 15 points in the effort for Fellbach. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BV Villingen-Schwenningen have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They keep a position of South-West leader, which they share with Speyer. Loser Fellbach dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face TV Langen (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
