Regular Season Round 15: Souffel - CFBB 95-66

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-66 loss to fifteenth ranked Souffelweyersheim (6-9) in Souffelweyersheim on Saturday evening. They also forced 19 CFBB turnovers and outrebounded them 39-21 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Souffelweyersheim looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for Lithuanian power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Valentin Correia (192-93) helped adding 9 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Yohan Choupas (193-0) with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and forward Ivan Fevrier (204-99) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Souffelweyersheim moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Brissac-Aubance. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Souffelweyersheim will meet SAP Vaucluse (#14) in the next round. CFBB will play against La Charite (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
