Regular Season Round 16: Samaheej - Al-Manama 60-125

Bottom-ranked Samaheej is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 15th consecutive match to second ranked Al-Manama (12-1) 125-60. Al-Manama dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 22. Al-Manama forced 34 Samaheej turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Maitham Jameel who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and international forward Hassan Nawrooz who added 22 points during the contest. Four Al-Manama players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mujtaba Ismaeel responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and Mohammed Busafwan scored 17 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Manama have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 12-1 record behind leader Al-Ahli. Samaheej at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Al-Manama will play against Al-Riffa (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Samaheej will play against Al-Muharraq (#3) in Al Muharraq and hopes to get finally their first victory.
