Regular Season Round 9: Al Arabi - Al Gharafa 72-96

Round 9 most important game was a victory of Al Gharafa over second-best Al Arabi 96-72 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Arabi. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al Gharafa shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Monroe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Nick Stover (198-93, college: S.Alabama) answered with 30 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Al Arabi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Gharafa (7-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Qatar Club. Al Arabi at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost.
