Regular Season Round 15: Chalons-Reims - Gravelines 83-72

We should mention about the upset which took place in Reims, where higher ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (8-7) lost to thirteenth ranked Chalons-Reims (7-8) in a road game 72-83. The game was mostly controlled by Chalons-Reims. Gravelines-Dunkerque was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalons-Reims forced 19 Gravelines-Dunkerque turnovers. It was a good game for Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Ghanian-American forward Ben Bentil (206-95, college: Providence) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. Chalons-Reims' coach Cedric Heitz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) answered with 22 points and point guard Benjamin Sene (186-94) added 8 points and 8 assists in the effort for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Chalons-Reims moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Bourg. Chalons-Reims will play against higher ranked Le Mans (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Le Portel (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
