Regular Season Round 11: BC Timisoara - UBT Cluj Napoca 70-81

Leading BC Timisoara (8-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by third ranked UBT Cluj Napoca (8-2) 81-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BC Timisoara. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by UBT Cluj Napoca. BC Timisoara was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American-Liberian guard Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: Connecticut) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. International point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (206-84) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and international point guard Octavian Calota (189-84) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. BC Timisoara's coach Tudor Costescu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for UBT Cluj Napoca. Defending champion moved-up to second place. BC Timisoara at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. UBT Cluj Napoca will play against Pitesti (#6) on the road in the next round. BC Timisoara's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Timisoara to the arena Timba Timosoara.
