Regular Season Round 23: Telsiai - Neptunas-Akv. 75-67

The game in Telsiu was also quite interesting. 4th placed Neptunas-Akv. (14-9) played at the court of fifth ranked Telsiai (13-10). Telsiai managed to secure a 8-point victory 75-67 on Friday. Strangely Neptunas-Akv. outrebounded Telsiai 40-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for guard Erikas Kubilius (194-95) who led the winners and scored 16 points. Forward Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-91) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Telsiai's coach Augenijus Vaskys used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Arunas Mikalauskas (202-97, agency: BeoBasket) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Neptunas-Akv. in the defeat. Telsiai maintains fifth place with 13-10 record, which they share with Zalgiris II. Loser Neptunas-Akv. keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Telsiai will meet league's leader Vytis in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Silute and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
